CHAIAH BIOGRAPHY
Chaiah (a.k.a. Chiara Baume) is a musician, producer, and recording/mixing/mastering engineer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Now signed to the independent record label everydejavu, she is actively working on various projects while continuing to shape her unique sonic identity.
As a former Music Director of the Ganoush Collective, Chaiah has extensive experience in music direction, production, and engineering across Jazz, Hip-Hop, R&B, and Electronic music. Her approach blends organic live instrumentation with sampling techniques and intricate sound design, drawing inspiration from artists such as Alfa Mist, Sevdaliza, BADBADNOTGOOD, Hiatus Kaiyote, Taylor McFerrin, Kaytranada, Björk, MNDSGN, and Yussef Dayes. Through her compositions, she creates immersive soundscapes that evoke both introspection and euphoria.
Chaiah has worked as a composer, producer, session musician, sound designer, and recording/mixing engineer on professionally released records and live performances with artists including Daedelus, Mia Zeta, Tessa Jade, Nina Del Rio, Martin Allende, LUMINECHO, Bianca Cabili, Ceferino Carrera, Aarón Gordonas, Austin Wilson, Leah Parrett, Michael Dunaway, Marilyn Simone, Pablo Bursztyn, and the Ganoush Collective.
In 2024, she was selected and honored with the Music Producer Award at Berklee College of Music’s Career Jam Award Show, recognizing her contributions to the field. Her debut album, Control/Release, a fusion of jazz and R&B, was released in November 2024.
Chaiah is currently preparing to move to New York City to continue exploring creative projects and expanding her work in music production, engineering, and artistic collaborations. She continues to work with artists and producers across Buenos Aires, Boston, Nashville, New York, Spain, and India while completing her studies in Music Production & Engineering and Sound Design at Berklee College of Music as a World Tour Scholarship recipient.
